ABOUT

Jerry L Halcomb FAIA

Dallas based Jerry L Halcomb, FAIA founded HH Architects in 1971 and served as president and CEO there for 41 years.  After retiring from the company in June of 2012, Halcomb moved into a consulting role, founding Studio H Consultants where he serves as president.

In his new role, Jerry continues to work with churches, sharing his decades of experience and expertise, providing pre-design services, helping demystify the design and building process, providing needs assessment, growth planning, and representing the church as project facilitator in the building and expansion process.

Jerry is a hands-on consultant partnering with churches, joining their leadership team, as an advocate to help their projects succeed.

In addition to consulting with church leaders, Jerry continues to speak at national conferences and expositions, blog on church design, and contribute articles on church architectural design, community connection and fellowship.

A member and active deacon at First Baptist Dallas since 1965. In addition to his love of family, church and Architecture, Jerry’s other love is music.  In college he played in a dance band that was inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame (2013) and his “Texas RoundUp” band playing for various events for 40+ years.

Doug Halcomb

Doug Halcomb has been in church and/or parachurch ministry since 1990, including time spent as a youth minister, Associate Pastor, Young Life leader, a hockey chaplain, and now as a Senior Pastor. Doug has a passion for developing leaders, engaging the next generation, connecting people to meaningful engagement of the scriptures, as well as strategic ministry planning and problem solving. He is certified by the Paterson Center as a StratOp for Churches Facilitator.

Doug also has a passion for creating connecting environments, which he likely inherited from his dad, Jerry Halcomb, who has been involved with church architecture for the past 50 years, founder of HH Architects in Dallas, Texas in 1971, and now owns Studio H Consultants to partner with churches as a “third party consultant.”

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Doug earned his undergrad degree from Texas Tech University, and his Master of Arts in Global Leadership from Fuller Seminary. He spent nine years serving as a hockey missionary on staff with Hockey Ministries International that included the privilege of serving as the chaplain for the NHL Dallas Stars hockey team, where he continues to serve as the Co-Chaplain.

Doug and his wife, Jennifer, adopted their son and daughter, Jean and Graycia, from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2013.
